How It Works

We offer a variety of learning formats, including Group, Paired and 1:1 Lessons.

More information on how monthly tuition plans work in the FAQ and booking page.

Lessons are delivered weekly during public school terms.

Group Lessons

Recommended for children aged 4-12 years, as they benefit a lot and are motivated by the social and peer learning environment.

Groups are kept small, at 3-4 students. Group learning supports musical comprehension and independence, general musicality, and both solo and group playing skills.

Students are grouped according to age: 4-5yo, 6-7yo, 8-9yo, 10-12yo

Groups can be single-level or multi-level - tailored to the needs of group participants.

Steps to Enrolment:

1. Start with a 1:1 Trial Pack*

2. We match you to an existing group - or start a new one!

3. Enrol in group classes - with our Happiness Guarantee**

Pricing:

30 minute weekly group lessons: $73 per month

(per child. 4-5 yo only)

45 minute weekly group lessons: $98 per month

*We ask that you do a 1:1 Trial Pack first, so we can get to know your child and match them to the right group. If there is no group currently available to join, you can continue to do 1:1 lessons until we are able to form a group with other students.

1:1/Paired Lessons

Paired Lessons work well for siblings, family or friends who wish to learn together, and are at a similar age &/or level.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Monthly Tuition Plan work?

Holistic Music operates on a monthly flat-fee model for tuition fees. This is to make payments streamlined, stable and predictable for all. It also reflects the nature of music tuition as being ideally a commitment of a year at a time.

The tuition fees are calculated over the full year, then distributed over 12 equal monthly instalments. This means payments do not reflect how many lessons are received that month, they just balance out over the year to cover the full annual tuition fees.

It follows the same principle as a payment plan for school fees. This is based on a ‘lesson-year’ of 40 lesson-weeks for kids/teens (weekly lessons during school terms).

You can read more about our tuition pricing and studio policy here.

What if we go away and miss lessons?

If you have planned absences such as holidays or special events, we simply ask for as much notice as possible, so we can schedule make up lessons. You are eligible for up to two make up lessons per term, which can be fulfilled during the following school holidays. Lessons may be able to be rescheduled in the same week on occasion, depending on availability but this is not guaranteed.

What times are group classes run?

Groups are run at 6pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays. If you have 3 or more children mind you would like to group together, there is the possibility of adding a new time that suits you and our availability. Feel free to discuss this with us.

What is your 1:1/paired lesson availability?

The best way to see if there is availability that suits your schedule is to check the calendar on the booking page. You can view the calendar without making payment, to ensure you can find a suitable time before proceeding. If you can't see a suitable time on the calendar, you can contact us to see if there is anything we can do behind the scenes to free up a time.

Can I/do I have to sit in at lessons?

You are most certainly welcome to sit in at lessons any time! However, I also know it's a good chance for you to run errands, make phone calls, drop off/pick up other kids, or just have a precious quiet moment to yourself 🧘🏻 so, it's completely up to you.
